iQOO Z11 Review: Slim Design, Big Battery, Unlimited AI

iQOO’s latest mid-segment phone sports a curved display, decent entertainment-friendly specs, a big battery in a slim frame, and a generous serving of AI. But will all this be enough for the iQOO Z11 to click with its target audience in a time of rising prices and declining specs? Let’s find out.

iQOO Z11 Looks and Appearance: Curved Display and a Pixel-Like Camera Bar

The iQOO Z11 is a tall, slim phone that will turn heads with its appearance. It sports a curved display in front and also has curved sides, while on the back is a camera bar that reminds us of the Google Pixel. It is a tall phone at 164.4 mm, although it is very slim at just 7.99 mm, and surprisingly light for its size at just 199 grams — that’s taller, and yet lighter and slimmer than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The front is smooth glass while the back and sides are made of polycarbonate, but they can be easily mistaken for metal or glass. The camera bar on the back is made of aluminum, which gives the phone a very premium feel. It comes with IP68/69 dust and water resistance, so it can easily survive a fall in the water, and has a very reassuringly solid feel to it.

The iQOO Z11 comes in Celestial Blue and Aurora Green shades. Both have a subtly shiny look that shimmers and changes shades in the light, and also have matte finishes that do not smudge or stain easily. We got the Aurora Green shade. This phone has flaunt value without being loud — the curved display and the camera bar give it slim and tall Pixel vibes, which is not a bad thing at all.

iQOO Z11 Spec Sheet and Hardware: Solidly Upper Mid-Segment

The iQOO Z11 comes with a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which is rare at this price point. Sound is handled by a pair of stereo speakers. The phone is the first in the Indian market to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Ultra processor, which is a steady performer with some gaming ability as well. This is paired with RAM and storage variants of 6 GB/128 GB, 8 GB/128 GB, 8 GB/256 GB, and 12 GB/256 GB. The RAM is LPDDR4X, while the storage is UFS 3.1 — not top of the line, but very capable. The camera bar on the back has a 50-megapixel main Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultrawide, while selfie and video call duties are handled by a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. In spite of being very slim, the iQOO Z11 comes with a large 7025 mAh battery with support for 44W charging, and a 44W charger in the box.

The iQOO Z11 runs on OriginOS 6 on top of Android 16 and comes with an assurance of three years of Android upgrades and five years of security patches. The phone also comes with a number of AI tools beyond Google’s standard Gemini suite, including unlimited AI credits for AI captions and AI creations using iQOO’s tools — allowing consumers to use them without restrictions, which is rare to see at this price.

iQOO Z11 Cameras: Colorfully Pleasant, Mostly

Photography on the iQOO Z11 is largely a single-camera show — something that is beginning to become the rule in this price segment. The 50-megapixel main camera takes very pleasant snaps with ample detail. Purists might feel that the images come with slightly saturated colors, but mainstream users are unlikely to complain. Even low-light and night photography is impressively colorful. We would suggest shooting videos in daylight, though, as low-light videos are not the best.

The front camera takes good selfies, with plenty of beautification and skin smoothing by default, although these can be toned down. The ultrawide camera is good for a different perspective, but its quality is not the greatest. Portraits are impressive, but lossless zoom is limited to 2x, while digital zoom goes up to 10x. There are plenty of shooting and editing options to let one do more with images, but this is a phone for casual point-and-shooters rather than enthusiasts.

iQOO Z11 Performance: Doing It All Well, Instead of Doing a Few Things Brilliantly

The iQOO Z11 is one of the rare phones out there that does many things well. The combination of that large display and very good stereo speakers makes it a great phone for viewing content, whether it is shows and films, reels, or just browsing the web. The 7025 mAh battery comfortably keeps going for a day and a half of normal use, and the 44W charger gets the phone from empty to full in about 70–75 minutes, with half an hour generally being enough to take the phone up to 50 percent — which is enough to see off a day of use.

The Dimensity 7500 Ultra sails through routine tasks effortlessly, and switching between 6–10 apps was smooth with no noticeable lag. While the phone is not a gaming beast, titles like Call of Duty and Asphalt ran well after a few minor tweaks, and even Genshin Impact (with graphics toned down) ran well on the phone. The display and speakers again play key roles here. The phone never heated up excessively, no matter what we burdened it with.

iQOO Z11 Software and UI: Unlimited AI

OriginOS 6 runs smoothly on the iQOO Z11, and there are plenty of AI tools to play around with. AI Creation is a powerful writing tool, and AI Transcript Assist works perfectly for those who love to have written records of meetings, classes, or lectures (do double-check names, though). There are also tools for AI translation, summaries, and more. They all work very smoothly — though you need to log in to an iQOO account and have an internet connection for most — with many coming with unlimited usage, something college-goers and AI enthusiasts on a tight budget will appreciate. One also gets Google’s AI tools such as Gemini and Circle to Search.

While there is some bloatware — most of which can be uninstalled — there are also a number of handy utilities and features, including iQOO DocMaster for working with multiple document formats, the Dynamic Island-like Origin Island, and the ability to easily share information with both Android and iOS devices. The software can feel a little overwhelming at first, but is extremely useful once one gets the hang of it, and works smoothly most of the time.

iQOO Z11 Review Verdict: Great for Those Who Want a Do-It-All That Also Looks Good

The iQOO Z11 is a well-rounded mid-segment phone that punches above its weight in several areas. Its slim, premium-looking design, large and vivid display, capable stereo speakers, long-lasting battery, and generous AI toolset make it an appealing package for everyday users who want a phone that looks good and handles everything from content consumption to casual gaming without breaking a sweat. It is not the phone for someone chasing flagship camera performance or top-tier gaming, but for the mainstream buyer who wants a reliable, feature-rich device that also turns heads, the iQOO Z11 makes a very strong case for itself.
